Recently we had a customer exporting to Japan. They are experiencing problems where one particular type of produce to one particular port is often arriving with mould issues. This is caused by water evaporating from their product, getting out of the bags, condensing and then dropping back down on their bags. Or that’s the current theory.
What they don’t know is when it is happening or why.
By placing a humidity logger in with the shipment they will be able to see when the increase in humidity is occurring and from there try to work out why.
At the same time they can be monitoring normal shipments to see what should be happening.
