How waterproof is the Thermocron?

It was a strange way to start a telephone conversation about a temperature logger, but our customer needed to know.

After telling him the answer, I quizzed him why he needed to know.

He is doing an experiment on the temperature of the cow’s second stomach, so needed a small device that would not be an irritant to the cow, but could log sufficient temperature data without any invasive surgery.

With the Thermocron being only 17.5mm wide and 6mm thick, it was the perfect size to insert into the cow’s stomach

When asked what other animals had the Thermocrons been used in, the list is growing longer.

They have been used for logging temperatures of elephants’ stomachs. I pity the person that needs to find it when it was expelled from the elephant.
